Just for Bess!

Okay I know Chicken Milkshake doesn’t sound like the most appealing thing but our lovely old girl, Bess has been having some trouble eating. Ever since her sister passed away last year she’s been really depressed and her interest in food has disappeared :( That led to her losing a ton of weight :( The first two days she was with us, she didn’t want to eat anything so I had no choice but to blend pieces of chicken (her Mum sweetly prepared them for her!) with my absolute favourite, Cosi Pet’s Milk! TADAH! Chicken Milkshake!

Of course, she wasn’t willing to eat/drink it. Haha. I mean, it does sound terribly disgusting (looks like chicken soup though) so I warmed it through and fed it to her with a syringe. I know force feeding isn’t very appealing but it’s better that she eats something :) She consumes about 20ml (2 syringes full) every 2 hours. After 2 days, she’s gotten pretty comfortable with the idea of being fed with a syringe (doesn’t resist) and this morning something magical happened! I’ll tell you guys what it was SOON! Hehe.

How cutie Shady eats!

Little Shady is a real lady! She likes to be hand fed so she doesn’t have to get her pretty face messy with food, hehe. She also likes to eat in really quiet, private places where the other dogs can’t get to her such as my bedroom or on the couch! Haha. It’s so amusing because she’s such a playful little one but she has the funniest eating habits! Silly girl! :)

Where did Peanut go today?!

Here’s our old man in a fancy stroller (okay the stroller belongs to Skotch, haha, he was pretty upset that he had to walk), on a little outing today! Guess where he went?! Okay you guys will totally roll your eyes when I mention it.

PEANUT WENT TO……………. *DRUMROLL*

THE VET. HAHAHAHHA.

Quite possibly the ONLY dog in the world who is happy to be at the vet!

He wasn’t sick or anything, he just needed to get his nails trimmed and I was worried the groomer might be a little too rough with him! Of course, Skotch tagged along (on foot, heh) and got his nails done too! So apparently now the dogs get their nails done and I don’t. To be honest I’m a little jealous!!! :P

How to cheat doggies into taking their medication

Step 1: Cut out a small piece of canned dog food. I absolutely detest feeding dogs food from a can, it’s not healthy and I’m inclined to believe that there is minimal nutritional value (if any). Unfortunately, I have to admit that these are fantastic at hiding pills because of their firm texture.

Step 2: Plan where to place your pills!

Step 3: STUFF! Easy peasy! I must say nails come in handy though, haha. I’ve been wanting to cut my nails really short but imagine having to push these tiny pills in with my fingers! What a mess!

TADAH! Is it just me or does this look somewhat satisfying? Like luncheon meat with mystery bits. Haha.

How do you guys cheat your little ones if they have to take medicine?? :)

Hi! My name is Gus!

Doesn’t Gus look like the happiest little boy here? Hehe. Mind you, it takes a lot to make him smile!!! He wasn’t the smiley little boy you see here the first two days he was at Crystle’s Dog Boarding. You see, Gus was abandoned once before :( He’s 13 years old, that’s the estimate age he was given by a Vet based on his health (teeth, eyes, etc). When Gus was found, his teeth had rot all the way that ’caused a hole under his left eye (see the darker spot under his left eye?). Saliva and tears tend to drip out of that hole so it has to be wiped as often as possible (especially after his meals) to prevent build up of bacteria.

That aside, Gus also has stress-related issues. For example, if he is left alone, he’ll start chewing himself :( To top that off, he has weak hind legs and can’t walk for too long :(

Thankfully for Gus, he’s found an owner who loves him dearly and spoils him endlessly! He’s got everything a little doggy could possible dream of! :) He gets home cooked meals on a daily basis and he’s got supplements to ensure his joints and skin remain in good condition :) Gus loves sleeping on my giant mattress. There’s nothing he loves more than an air-conditioned room and a big fluffy comforter! Oh did I mention he “juices” apples?! Yup, he doesn’t eat them. He just juices them then spits them out! Hahaha.
